Eagle Point Primary School runs a special program to support some of the students at our school. Volunteers from our local community become involved in working with identified students on a one to one basis. They come in once a week for approximately one hour to complete activities of mutual interest. The aim of the program is to develop positive self esteem for the children involved, where they have a ‘special friend’ to do activities with, having a positive mentor to assist the children in making links to our local community.

This a very special program that has been initiated in our school over the past few years. Special Friends is where we have local community members aligning with children who have a need for a friendly caring adult. Some children need the opportunity to be heard, to have a friend and just to have fun with someone who cares. It is a time where the children have a mentor to talk to, work with and just enjoy. It is one of the most worthwhile programs we have on offer.
