About Our Class
Welcome to Room 1 at Eagle Point Primary School! We are very lucky to have a lovely class of 18 students.
We have a blast learning in Room 1, and enjoy having fun with our classmates.
Each morning we begin with our 2 hour Literacy block. Our block nurtures the development of skills our students need for successful reading and viewing, writing, speaking annd listening. We have incorporated all the components of The Big 6 being: oral language, phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension.
We begin with our Phonics plus lesson where we are learning about our letters and sounds. This forms the basis of reading and writing for our students and equips them with the skills and knowledge they need to decode words (read) and encode ( write) their own texts. This is a very enjoyable part of the morning as the children love using mini whiteboards to write their new sounds, words and even write a short sentence.
For our Reading and Writing compenent, we explore the texts of different authors and also different genres. We are learning to document our thinking about the books we read, and to then share our thoughts with others. We are learning strategies to help us read, and we are enjoying learning to write and creating our own little books to share.
In our Numeracy block we begin each day by viewing a fun number talk image. This helps us to develop our number sense, speaking and listening skills as well as "seeing" the thinking of our classmates. We are learning various math concepts such as numbers, counting, addition, subtraction, sharing, measurement and shape. Maths is very hands on, and each day you will find us learning by playing math games, using many different hands on materials such as pom poms, counters, teddys, hippos, buttons etc. We also love to explore math concepts out in the playground and often head out to find natural items to count, meaure, sort, and order.
Every Tuesday our class enjoys Performing Arts (Mr Johnson) and Art ( Mrs Jo Briscomb). On Friday we love getting into the Science room with Mr Johnston and P.E with Mrs Ford. Each Thursday we are very fortunate to have Rosette come into our class and teach us all about AUSLAN.

About Our Class 2026
Welcome to our Grade 3/4 class — a vibrant, curious, and hardworking community. This stage of schooling brings greater independence, deeper focus, and a growing sense of responsibility for learning… without forgetting how to have fun!
Our classroom is a place where students grow not just academically, but as whole people. We place a strong emphasis on interpersonal skills, Choice Theory, and theRespectfulRelationships program, helping students understand themselves, manage emotions, make positive choices, and build strong, respectful connections with others. Confidence, empathy, and resilience are just as valued here as neat handwriting.
Across the week, students enjoy a rich specialist program including performing arts, visual art, physical education, science, and AUSLAN, giving them opportunities to explore interests, discover strengths, and challenge themselves in new ways. These experiences help develop creativity, teamwork, and a love of learning beyond the classroom walls.
ln literacy, students continue their journey as independent readers and purposeful writers. They learn to think more deeply about texts, express ideas clearly, and write with intention, voice, and growing confidence. In mathematics, learning stretches into fractions, decimals, and yes — even times tables. Concepts are explored using hands-on materials and visual strategies to build strong understanding and support mental maths.
Of course, learning isn’t all serious business. There’s plenty of room for fun through athletics, swimming, incursions, and the much-anticipated school camp. We believe joy and connection are essential ingredients for meaningful learning.
We love welcoming visitors and parent helpers into our space — so pop in, say hi, and see our learning in action.
Welcome to Room 3 at Eagle Point Primary School. We are a class of 24 students at an important stage of learning. This year focuses on building strong foundations while supporting students to become confident, independent learners who enjoy coming to school.
Students participate in daily phonics instruction using Phonics Plus. Phonics knowledge is explicitly taught and applied during reading and writing lessons, where students practise decoding, spelling and comprehension strategies. Literacy lessons include clear learning goals, feedback and opportunities for practice, alongside games, discussion and shared activities to keep learning engaging and enjoyable.
In mathematics, learning is hands on and interactive. Students use concrete materials, visual models and problem solving tasks to explore new concepts. This approach supports understanding, builds confidence and encourages a positive attitude towards maths.
Throughout the week, we participate in specialist classes including Physical Education, Performing Arts, Science, Art and Auslan. Regular brain breaks are built into the day and may include movement, games or creative activities to support focus and wellbeing.
Room 3 is a safe, supportive and positive learning environment. Effort is valued, progress is celebrated and students are encouraged to challenge themselves, work together and have fun while they learn. Families are always welcome in Room 3. If you have questions, want to share information or would like to see learning in action, please feel free to come in and have a chat.

About Our Class
In Room 4 we strive to create a nurturing and fun learning environment, where we celebrate each other as learners. We have a beautiful class of 19 Grade 1/2 students!
We understand that each of our students brings with them to school their very own interests, abilities, needs and experiences and so we endeavour to create a learning program for our students that encompasses their learning needs as well as catering to their individual interests. All students work with their own learning goals that change with their needs and accomplishments.
In room 4 we have a strong focus on building our classroom community, and this extends further into the school family of Eagle Point Primary School. Our students enjoy many fun and engaging activities, such as weekly Junior Sports with Room 3.
LITERACY
We keep busy during our morning Literacy block with our reading, writing, and Sound Waves where our students continue to build on the foundations of phonics. We study authors and apply what we have learned about the craft of writing and illustrating to our own stories, understanding the author's purpose and the main message in the texts we explore. The students learn about how we can gather ideas for writing and how to create pieces of writing that we are proud to share with our intended audience. Sharing books with each other and building up our classroom library to include different genres and interests is very important. Our students enjoy spending time in the class library, as well as listening to our class novels and picture books being read.
NUMERACY
In our Numeracy block, our students explore the world around them through a mathematical lens. Our students enjoy our Number Talks where they are challenged to build upon their number sense, problem solving skills as well as developing a range of calculation strategies. We do lots of hands on activities both in and out of the classroom that are challenging, enjoyable and foster a love for maths.
The Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships program is an integral part of the students' learning as well as experiencing visiting incursions (such as local authors, artists, environmental scientists etc). Our school is very lucky to have an amazing Specialist Program that our students enjoy each week: Physical Education, Art, Performing Art and Science. These programs add further enrichment to each child’s learning and the children love these special classes. Our students also enjoy learning Auslan with our LOTE Teacher, Rosette.
We love visitors to our grade, we are the YELLOW room!
